Bank Holiday Breaks

Planning a last minute getaway? With one last Bank Holiday of the year left, it's the perfect time to escape for a spontaneous long weekend away!

Whether you fancy a relaxed staycation exploring the UK or a vacation abroad to soak up some sun, we've got your travel plans (and suitcase) sorted.

Here are six escapes to help you make the most of the extra day...

S T A Y C A T I O N . . .

Seaside Stopover: Norfolk

Famed for ice cream coloured beach huts and vast stretches of bucket and spade ready sand, Norfolk in East Anglia is the ideal spot for a classic seaside stay. Explore 90 miles of unspoilt coastline, fly kites and picnic in the dunes, rent a boat along the tranquil Norfolk Broads, amble through the cobbled streets of Norwich to spy the 12th century Cathedral, then head to Wells-next-the-Sea for vintage shopping finds followed by fish and chips on the promenade!

Countryside Retreat: Yorkshire

For a taste of countryside air, pack up your tent (or book a B&B) and venture to the vast valleys, moors, peaks and green dales the county of Yorkshire has on it's doorstep. Along with three breathtaking national parks and the must-see Yorkshire Sculpture Park, it's home to the highest concentration of grand stately homes, gardens and castles in England - so there's plenty of places to get your culture fix. Stop by the multi-cultural cities of Leeds, York or Hull for proper pubs and (depending on the weather) refreshing real ales alfresco.

Coastal Getaway: Fife

Dotted with colourful fishing villages, the ancient Scottish kingdom of Fife is home to long sandy bays, choppy seas and picturesque harbour views. From the pretty town of Pittenweem to the castle ruins of St Andrews, you'll find plenty to do on Scotland's east coast. Bring the family for a relaxed weekend beach break and make sure to try the unbeatable fresh seafood (including great lobster rolls!) Fife is renowned for.

Urban Escape: Berlin

Bustling with creativity and steeped in history, Berlin is a four-day worthy weekend location. Whether you're after iconic architecture, splashes of colourful graffiti, chic foodie hangouts and street markets or canopied beer gardens - Germany's cultured capital has it all. Plus there are plenty of quirky Airbnb's to choose from, free walking tours to all the different districts and tranquil surrounding parks and lakes to cycle round during the summer months.

Mediterranean Moment: Mallorca

Sunseekers head to the idyllic white-sand beaches, crystal clear coastlines, soaring limestone mountains and wild pine forests of North Mallorca - one of the chicest destinations to visit in the Mediterranean. Explore countless secluded beaches, climb, cycle or hike up the Tramuntana mountains and spend sunny afternoons in the old charming towns. Only a two hour flight away, it's perfect for a short sunshine-filled stay!

City Break: Istanbul

If you're after a warm climate with a mix of Eastern and Western culture, then Istanbul has the best of both worlds. The lively Turkish city boasts a range of eclectic neighbourhoods, glamorous hangouts, beautiful mosques and unforgettable panoramic views.
