Christmas With…

After a year of interviewing incredible, inspiring women from all different industries and parts of the globe, we thought we'd ask some of the women we love how they style Christmas!

From Christmas Eve to Boxing day, carols to party playlists, Scandi-style to sparkly decor, here's how some of our favourite females spend the festive season...

Who will you be spending Christmas with this year?

My immediate family.

Midnight mass or tucked in bed early for the big day?

Never in bed early, always over excited, and last minute wrapping.

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

Pyjamas until midday, then jeans and something soft.

Christmas carols or Party playlist?

Christmas party playlist.

Minimalist decor or all things sparkly?

Loads of greenery and sparkle!

Favourite Christmas song of all time?

'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas'.

What is your Boxing Day bliss?

Leftovers. Heated veg, cold meats and pickles.

And finally, what is on your hush Christmas wish list this year?

The Cashmere Roll Neck Dress.
(I've emailed the link to my husband! Hence the 'something soft'...)

Who will you be spending Christmas with this year?

It’ll be a big family Christmas with me, my husband, parents, and my two sisters and their families. Both of my nieces are under five, so it’s really fun to have small kids around for Christmas. Oh and of course the Ms – my two dogs Mungo and Maud.

Midnight mass or tucked in bed early for the big day?

Definitely tucked up in bed early – I’m usually up at the crack of dawn every day, so I’m not much of a night owl!

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

Big chunky heels, skinny jeans and a new sequined top for a bit of sparkle.

Christmas carols or Party playlist?

Party playlist please! Preferably jazz – something smooth, cool and low-key.

Minimalist decor or all things sparkly?

I’m never ever a minimalist at any time of year, so Christmas doesn’t seem the time to start! I love to cover things in an abundance of greenery, cinnamon sticks, fruit, herbs, pine cones and wreaths – both faux and fresh. So if I had to sum my holiday decorating style up in one word it would be foraged. I do like to break out a bit of tinsel and kitsch too though.

Favourite Christmas song of all time?

Leonard Cohen’s 'Hallelujah', sung by the London Community Gospel Choir. Not strictly festive, but it always makes my playlist.

What is your Boxing Day bliss?

A walk in Hyde Park with the Ms (my dogs Mungo and Maud), home to a roaring log fire and sharing a bottle of champers and a long late lunch with the family.

And finally, what is on your hush Christmas wish list this year?

A Cashmere Shawl. I travel a lot for work, it’s the perfect thing to keep me warm on a plane and (weirdly) in hot countries when the aircon is cranked right up! I love the light cashmere because it doesn’t crease and is super cosy.

Who will you be spending Christmas with this year?

My husband Danny, my kids and Danny's brother & wife and their kids.

Midnight mass or tucked in bed early for the big day?

I like to be tucked up in bed! I've done a few too many midnight masses!

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

It's always a tradition in our family to wear red! So it will be a red dress of some sort!

Christmas carols or Party playlist?

Christmas Carols of course.

Minimalist decor or all things sparkly?

Sparkly all the way!

Favourite Christmas song of all time?

'Winter Wonderland' is my favourite all time Christmas song! I once sang it at a party I hosted a few years back!

What is your idea of Boxing Day bliss?

A long walk along the river, followed by Boxing Day TV curled up by the fire.

Who will you be spending Christmas with this year?

It's a magical time of year that I love, a time to be together. Christmas Eve is always full of expectation in our house, with the tree sparkling, presents wrapped and stockings full. Evie, my daughter, calls it *Christmas Evie*. And the Inn is full of smiling faces and much merriment, a haven of loveliness.

Midnight mass or tucked in bed early for the big day?

Midnight Mass.

Christmas carols or Party playlist?

It is all about moments for me so carols on, hoping for a white Christmas, a favourite drink before bed and last minute preparations before Christmas arrives.

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

Christmas day I will be wearing the gorgeous Felix Dress and Double Star Necklace.

Minimalist decor or all things sparkly?

Simple, stylish decor with a sparkle always. Wreathes made of lavender, sea holly and bay. Garlands of eucalyptus, ivy, red berries and rosemary. Jars of dries oranges, limes, cinnamon sticks and cones.

Favourite Christmas song of all time?

'Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas' by Ella Fitzgerald.

What is your Boxing Day bliss?

Boxing day bliss is always about a slow start, breakfast together, pyjamas and cups of tea. A celebration of the Christmas Day that flew by. Followed by a long walk by the sea, a favourite film by the fire, turkey sandwiches and bubble and squeak - there's always so much to do with leftovers!

And finally, what is on your hush Christmas wish list this year?

I'm dreaming of  the Etoile Jumper, the Cashmere Roll Neck Jumper and Stella Jumper (as I Love a star!)

Who will you be spending Christmas with this year?

For the first time in several years, my husband and I (pregnant with our first child!) will be celebrating Christmas at our loft in Miami. We’ve always gone back to our hometown of Ohio to celebrate Christmas in the snow with our families, so this year will be something new, intimate… and tropical!

Midnight mass or tucked in bed early for the big day?

Knowing us, my husband and I will be too excited to open each other’s gifts so most likely come midnight we’ll be ordering food in, sitting under the tree and unwrapping some magic!

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

No matter how warm it may be in tropical Miami, I will be in cosy jammies.

Christmas carols or Party playlist?

We will definitely have a mix of all!

Minimalist decor or all things sparkly?

Generally our home is minimal with a touch of bohemian accents, but for the holidays we always add some sparkle!

Favourite Christmas song of all time?

'Oh Holy Night' by Il Divo.

And finally, what is on your hush Christmas wish list this year?

The Cashmere Roll Neck Jumper (cause…cashmere) and Mesh Strap Watch in Gold!

Who will you be spending Christmas with this year?

I will be spending it in France in our holiday home by the beach with my family and some friends. We lost our dad and aunt 12 months ago and a friend died in a car accident a month ago so I've invited his widow and his son to be with us and another friend. It has been such a tough year for everyone, I feel the need to put everyone under my wings and make sure everyone is happy and feel loved to finish the year on a positive note.

Midnight mass or tucked in bed early for the big day?

In France, we celebrate Christmas on 24th evening so it will be a nice meal with our favourite food and music and dance until late at night. I trust the teens and a few grown-ups to keep the party going for a while.

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

Sequin leggings with a black top and heels.

Christmas carols or Party playlist?

Party playlist, something funky & uplifting with David Guetta, Bruno Mars and Rihanna from my side and I know my daughter Mila will play Justin Bieber and Maroon 5.

Minimalist decor or all things sparkly?

Minimalist. This year I'm going for a Kinfolk theme bringing out rustic simplicity inspired by nature.

Favourite Christmas song of all time?

Not necessarily in praise of the Lord, but the beatbox version of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' by Pentatonix available on Youtube is very beautiful.

What is your Boxing Day bliss?

Making sure there is enough food in the house so we can hang around in our hush pyjamas all day.

And finally, what is on your hush Christmas wish list this year?

Quite a few things, I adore this Wool/Cashmere Roll Neck Jumper and the C'est Si bon Sweatshirt, and this amazing Leather Pencil Skirt!

Who will you be spending Christmas with this year?

I was lucky enough to be on a beach in India last Christmas, so this year I’ve promised my kids a proper traditional family get together. We’ve hired a cottage in Suffolk and will be hosting lunch for 10. My youngest daughter is only four so still very taken with the whole idea of Father Christmas and presents. It will be noisy, chaotic and ideally fuelled by a steady supply of alcohol.

Midnight mass or tucked in bed?

Neither! Christmas Eve is a big night in my hometown of Woodbridge, bigger in many ways than New Year’s Eve, so I will be locked in a pub somewhere with roaring fires and good company.

What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

A hangover probably and something with an elasticated waist.

Christmas carols or Party playlist?

Noddy Holder screeching “It’s Chriiiiiiiiiiistmas” on repeat.

Minimalist decor or all things sparkly?

In my head I want pared back, Scandi minimalism - sleek, chic and modern, something that wouldn’t look out of place on a Living Etc front cover. In reality it’ll be handmade angels made from toilet roll tubes and whatever was thrown in the decoration box at the end of last year. One thing I do like is plenty of candles everywhere and a huge handmade wreath on the front door so at least the house looks orderly from the outside.

Favourite Christmas song of all time?

East 17, 'Stay Another Day'.

Boxing Day bliss?

A lie-in followed by a walk along Thorpeness beach to get some fresh air and work up an appetite for more leftover roast potatoes.

Whats on your hush Christmas list year?

I’ve had the Onyx Leather Jacket earmarked for some time. I love the chunky hardware and that muted, dove-grey colour makes me very happy indeed - a pleasing change from black. If Santa’s not feeling that generous I’d happily plump for the Claudia Dress with the tiny white stars on it, looks like it’d be easy to wear dressed up or down. Failing that some Cashmere Socks, the only time I’d be genuinely happy to get socks in my stocking!
