Insider’s Ibiza Guides

From hidden beach coves to eclectic shops and restaurant recommendations with unbeatable sunset views, we asked four of our favourite Ibiza residents and frequent visitors to give us their insider guides to the beautiful Balearic Island...

Favourite beach?
Las Salinas, an iconic beach in Ibiza where DJs spin Balearic beats until the sun goes down and dancers parade along the shore promoting the island’s famous nightlife...

Lunch break?
The Skinny Kitchen.

Day trip?
El Chiringuito for a beach day (think white sofa beds, sandy beaches and crystal clear water) or a boat trip over to Formentera.

Shopping destination?
La Marina.

Girls' night out?
It has to be Ushuwaia.

Who is your ideal travelling companion?
Each other- as we always love doing the same thing and getting involved in activities! Or our boyfriends...

What are your travelling essentials?
Moisturising lotion (we love La Mer), SPF (try Darphin suncreams) and a great playlist to listen to tunes!

And lastly, describe Ibiza in three words…
Fun, magical and enticing!

Favourite beach?

I love Cala Bassa in the winter when there are no sunbeds.

Day trip?
Formentera is amazing for it’s natural beauty.

Shopping destination?
La Galeria Elefante. I can spend hours in there. Beautiful vintage clothes and much much more.

Dinner with friends?
Thaid Up a great Thai restaurant at the end of the port in Ibiza Town.

Girls' night out?
Pikes Hotel is my favourite place to party with friends.

Who is your ideal travelling companion?
I’ve travelled with many friends, my partner and children and have always had an amazing time.

What are your travelling essentials?
A hat, Havianas, sunglasses, bikini, sarong… and a good book.

And lastly, describe Ibiza in three words…
A special place.

Favourite beach?

For a family day I love Xaracca - a gorgeous cove in the North where we hunt for crabs.

Lunch break?
Wild Beets in Santa Gertrudis where everything is vegan and still delicious.

Day trip?
Formentera on the Ibiza Delivers - we hang out in the water and then eat at Tiburon.

Shopping destination?
Es Cucons in Santa Gertrudis (owned by the people with the agroturismo in Santa Agnes of the same name) - beautiful rustic pieces for the home and gorgeous hippy cowgirl clothes from brands such as Ralph Lauren. I bought my favourite nude moccasin boots here - they go with everything.

Dinner with friends?
Portalon in Ibiza Town as the food is incredible and you can never beat La Paloma - it’s the birthday spot for me and my friends.

Who is your ideal travelling companion?
My son. He’s at that age where he’s super proud to have his own seat and he smiles at everyone on the plane.

What are your travelling essentials?
Backpack, water wipes, i-pad (for Duke), book (for me), snacks and a few bonus toys for when boredom strikes.

And lastly, describe Ibiza in three words…
Magical, wild, healing.

Favourite beach?
Benniras and Aguas Blancas.

Day trip?
Formentera, straight to Mitjourn beach followed by dinner at 10.7 restaurant

Shopping destination?
Code, The Rose, Sluiz and of course my shop La Galeria Elefante.

Dinner with friends?
La Paloma!

Girls' night out?
La Paloma for delicious cocktails and dinner or Bar 1805 in D’alt Vila with people watching and then onto Pacha for Flower Power.

Who is your ideal travelling companion?
My husband.

What are your travelling essentials?
Comfy clothes that if necessary can sleep in, such as loose long floaty dresses - a good sense of humour, camera and facial rose water that´s made in Ibiza by the pharmacy “Farmacia Tur Vinas” in the old market.

And lastly, describe Ibiza in three words…
Magical - Wild and Fun!
