I love getting recommendations from friends of good books or films or things to buy - and I love passing on the things I've really enjoyed to other friends.
After all, what's the fun of raving about something if no-one else knows what you're talking about.
That's why when I started hush I included book and film recommendations in my first ever catalogue and why I have continued to do so through our blog and this newsletter.
Well, I have been telling everyone how wonderful After The Wedding was for the last couple of years - ever since it was recommended to me by Pia, the model on our Winter '07 and Winter '08 shoots.
And so much did I enjoy it then I went on to Amazon and bought Open Hearts on the basis that it too was a Danish film and it too starred Mads Mikkelsen.
And I have to say it too is a really enjoyable film - a romantic drama about the fate of two couples whose lives are inextricably linked when Joachim (the fiance in one couple) is run over by Marie, the wife in the couple.
He is left paralysed by the accident and bitter at his fate, drives his girlfriend into the arms of her doctor, Marie's husband Niels.
What I liked about it is it presents the story entirely in shades of grey - we can sympathise with all four parties in this drama - and by leaving the ending open it doesn't pretend to find a solution to an insoluble situation.
