What Bonnie Rakhit doesn’t know about travel and style (probably) isn’t worth knowing. She cut her fashion teeth at Elle, Grazia and The Sunday Times Style – and now travels the world, reporting back via her very chic award-winning blog, The Style Traveller.
Her favourite destinations are, “hot, stylish and know how to throw a party”. Here’s what she’ll be packing as she clocks the up air miles...
You’re the Style Traveller - so what are the most stylish places on your list?
My top three stylish destinations in the world are: Havana, Rio de Janiero and Ibiza. They have three things in common: they are hot, beautiful and they know how to throw a party!
What’s your favourite city in the world for shopping?
Tokyo is one of the best cities in the world to go shopping. It also has the most stylish population I've ever had the pleasure to do a street style shoot on.
Favourite foodie destination?
There's nothing like eating fresh fish at the beach and my ultimate experience was at Sandy Island, Anguilla in the Caribbean. It's a desert island beach restaurant like something out of a Bounty advert. The lobster is amazing!
And for culture?
India is one the most magical and historical places I've ever been. Venture into the depths of Rajasthan with its pink palaces, jewel-coloured spice markets and locals who dress up in all the colours of the rainbow. It's a photographers dream!
What do you never travel without?
My Olympus Penn Generation Camera, it's the bloggers camera.
What will you be reading/listening to this summer?
I love Ibiza, so I'll be listening to some Jamie XX chilled dance tunes by the beach.
Your summer beauty travel essentials…
I love the smell of Rituals sunscreen and it’s gorgeous turquoise packaging. I also love coconut oil for a great multi-purpose beauty essential.
Secret for looking stylish on planes?
Go sleek, wear block colour and think comfort. My ideal piece is a grey or black jersey tube maxi dress worn with a biker jacket. It looks edgy, chic and is super comfortable.
