Wendy Rowe

If you’re in desperate need of regaining the ‘glow’ after a period of over indulgence, meet Wendy Rowe. International make-up artist to the stars and the woman who created the flawless ‘no make-up, make-up’ look, Wendy has recently published her first beauty bible with the aim to help you start nourishing your skin from the inside out.

Eat Beautiful is a cookbook-cum-glow-guide bursting with healthy, skin-nourishing recipes, which are easy to make and even easier to eat (from refreshing Iced White tea to healthy White Fish and Sardine recipes). Allowing you to feed your skin with the nutrients it needs to get glowing and keep it that way. Condensed into a stunning handbook (including a beauty section full of beauty tips and tricks and homemade remedies and regimes), Wendy’s attainable approach can be dipped in and out of, or followed like a seasonal plan for radiant skin, all year round.

With flawless skin herself, she practises what she preaches - but isn’t averse to pizza days and dessert. Eat well, look good and live a little? Sounds like our kind of glow-getting...

What was the inspiration behind Eat Beautiful?

I have a website and people are constantly asking me questions and for advice, so I decided to share my knowledge in this go-to bible.

What’s your favourite recipe from the book?

They are all gorgeous, but if you don’t cook much and want to start with something easy, it would be the pumpkin soup at this time of year - it tastes super creamy, but has no dairy in it. Delicious!

What’s your favourite season for food?

I love food and I like variety. So it always feels good and tastes amazing when you eat what's in season, it makes each season special in its own way

What food is your guilty pleasure?

Pizza!! I try and make it the healthiest pizza possible. It needs to be on a thin base with fresh tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and basil. Then I cover the slice in rocket and sprinkle with chilli oil. Love, love, love.

What did you want to be growing up?

A dancer or an athlete. To be the best you need to be very disciplined and I’m not good with rules, so I do them both for fun, but I would have loved to have had that discipline.

You get to choose six people – dead or alive – to have dinner with. Who? Why? And where do you go?

Location - my house so I could host and cook for everyone! I'd invite Tom Hanks for his story-telling, Mike Leigh for his creative process, Adele for her personality and honest opinions, Sienna Miller because she's fun to be around and can mix with people so easily. Nelson Mandela as he had such a great optimism for life, Elizabeth Taylor as I'm sure she would be fascinating and Michael Jackson for perhaps a sing-a-long and if we went out after dinner we could dance, that would be major!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Enjoy the journey!

Home is…?

Where my heart is.

Over or under dressed?

Under dressed.

Morning person or night owl?

Both, depends where I am in the world and what I'm doing.

Eating in or dining out?

Eating in.

Starter or dessert?

Dessert!

Favourite tipple?

Vodka or great Tequila.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

Moisturizer, and physical workout!

What’s your desert island beauty product (we’ll give you sunscreen)?

Cleanser.

Life motto?

Live in the present, it’s a gift!
