Winter Inspired Interiors

Nestled in the grounds of Middleton Lodge, a grand Georgian country estate in North Yorkshire, The Coach House hotel is any design lover’s dream.

Originally built for horse-drawn carriages, The Coach House has been resorted, converted and re-designed as a chic 14-bedroom boutique getaway. With stunning honey-stone walls, rounded arches, exposed bricks and timber beams, it strikes the perfect balance between classic and contemporary style.

Design Director Rebecca Tappin is the mastermind behind the hotel's exquisite interior design. With a background in architecture (she spent years working as an architectural designer at the niche Notting Hill based practice Michaelis Boyd before moving up to Yorkshire), Rebecca and her husband have spent the last four years working together on the mammoth project.

We caught up with her for an insight into her unique design approach and tips on how to achieve it in your own house...
